While up at Aberfeldy for the SADR fundraiser I couldn't help but notice the area was steeped in Scottish history, I saw one sign for the SCOTTISH CRANNOG and thought I'd like to see that!! Well this weekend I went back up to have a look, It was a great excuse to take this drive again, one of the best wee drives I've been on in a long time, stunning scenery and the weather wasn't too bad either.

We stopped off for breakfast and then made our way to the CRANNOG where we were introduced to our guide who gave us a brilliant wee tour of the CRANNOG and it's surrounding encampment and told us all about the people who had lived there so many years ago.

We got the chance to see how they cooked, made holes in wood and stones and even got to create the ultimate tool, fire. There was a huge round of applause when we finally got our fire going and it was surprisingly satisfying to have made a fire the way our ancestors would have done.

We finished with a wee tour of the many exhibits and there was a special wee treat as they have been making two traditional boats and they were brought over to the CRANNOG while we were there, great stuff, all in all I would recommend this wee place for people of all ages, thoroughly enjoyed my visit and the tour guide was great.
